Grounds Maintenance Operative Job Description

Berry Recruitment is seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Operative to join their team in Peterborough. As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds and outdoor spaces of our client's property.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake all aspects of grounds maintenance, including shrub cutting, hedge cutting/pruning, strimming, weeding, and litter picking.
  • Operate small tools and plant, such as petrol hedgecutters and blowers.
  • Drive company vehicles (up to 3.5T) as required.
  • Ensure daily work schedules are followed and maintained to a consistent high standard.
  • Complete training in the appropriate equipment and safe methods of work.
  • Conduct daily safety checks on all vehicles and equipment, perform maintenance, and report defects as required.
  • Liaise with members of the public, other team members, managers, and sub-contractors in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements:
  • A valid Category B driving license is required.
  • Ability to work in an active role, getting in and out of the vehicle regularly.
Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, with a Friday finish at 12:45 pm every week.

This is a 7:15 am start.
