Job Summary:
This exciting opportunity as a Quantity Surveyor will support the Regional Commercial Manager in delivering and exceeding performance targets, providing valuable insights for budget forecasting and cost management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly valuations, providing cost substantiation, and managing the Early Warning and Compensation Event process. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential for building strong client relationships and resolving disputes effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing costs, identifying areas for improvement, and suggesting journal requests as needed.
- Reviewing monthly management accounts and key performance information to optimize margin.
- Maintaining data within the Company's Inhouse Works Management System.
- Ensuring timely and accurate billing, meeting client-specified application/invoice dates.
- Managing client disputes face-to-face, creating a strong client link, and responding to inquiries.
- Creating in-contract pricing, estimates, and quotations, and following through to final account settlement.
- Assisting with Aged Debt, cash collection, and escalation if needed.
- Preparing revenue reports for monthly management accounts.
- Contributing to overall commercial management, ensuring costs and revenue are accurately recorded.
Requirements:
- Degree-level education or equivalent.
- 2-3 years' experience in Quantity Surveying.
- Excellent negotiating and communication skills.
- Good understanding of the NEC form of contract.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Confident in working with IT/Digital systems for commercial management.
- Understanding of management accounts and financial reporting processes.
- Ability to build new and existing relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Fully qualified driver with a valid UK license.
