Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled HGV Mechanic to join our team at Nicholl Oil Group. As a key member of our transport function, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in top condition for safe operation.

About the Role: Our HGV Mechanic will conduct routine inspections, perform repairs and maintenance, and assist with breakdowns. You will work closely with our Operations Director and Service Manager to ensure that all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and repair of all vehicle types, including trucks and trailers
  • Conducting routine inspections, identifying potential issues, and recommending preventative measures
  • Collaborating with our Operations Director and Service Manager to prioritize tasks and allocate resources efficiently
  • Liaising with suppliers to source parts and equipment as needed
  • Providing excellent customer service by ensuring prompt resolution of vehicle issues

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified to City & Guilds level 3, BTEC, or NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
  • Practical experience working in a workshop environment, preferably within the last two years
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Estimated Salary: The successful candidate can expect a salary of £18-20 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
