Interim Chief Financial Officer

This is an interim Finance Director / CFO job to work on a project assisting a project-based business with the Financial Due Diligence pre-sale of the business. You will be a Qualified Accountant, and very likely a career interim with significant experience of working on sales of businesses, particularly first-time sales where the finance function is not yet professionalized.

You will report into both the CEO and to a certain extent the vendor on ensuring the FDD is successful and the beginnings of a professionalized finance function are created. You will therefore be able to travel to the business location at least three days a week to be in and amongst the team.

This Finance Director / CFO job offers a full-time contract, with a significant day rate that would sit outside IR35, with opportunity to be extended as an interim while a permanent search is undertaken, or potentially become the permanent CFO yourself if that is of interest.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Financial Due Diligence pre-sale of the business
  • Develop and implement a professionalized finance function
  • Report to the CEO and vendor on FDD progress
  • Travel to the business location at least three days a week
  • Manage successful exits in prior roles, particularly first-time sales
