Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Planning Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, reviewing, and developing efficient and effective timetables and schedules that meet the requirements of the franchise and service delivery needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, review, and develop timetables and schedules that meet franchise and service delivery requirements.
  • Liaise and negotiate with Depot Management Teams and Depot Trades Union to implement timetables and schedules.
  • Work with the Service Delivery Team and Depot Management Team to introduce temporary schedules to minimize delays due to long-term disruptions.
  • Provide information and data regarding schedules as required, including reporting on service change impacts to internal and external partners.
  • Work with the Service Delivery team and Depot management to improve service delivery to passengers through improved reliability and maximizing bonuses through the bonus regime.
  • Maintain a full knowledge of franchise requirements relating to timetables and performance regime.
  • Maintain a full knowledge of Domestic Drivers Hours regulations and European Drivers Hours Regulations.
  • Maintain a full knowledge of the computer-based schedules system used by the Company and assist other members of the Team when necessary.
  • Maintain a full knowledge of the Company's operating area, particularly with regard to Depots and relief point locations.
  • Carry out various ad hoc tasks and additional duties as required by Senior Managers/Directors and provide cover for other Schedules Compilers/Schedulers in the event of sickness, absence, and holidays.

Requirements:

  • Experience of using computer-based scheduling software.
  • Understanding of financial and costing procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Domestic Driving Hours Regulations.
  • Experience of Hastus Scheduling software (desirable).
  • Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly and at all levels.
  • Analytical skills – Ability to collate and interpret statistical data and using the insight gained to guide decision-making and improvements, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Colleague Development - Must be a team player and willing to develop others to increase team and individual performance.
  • Professional Integrity - Good awareness of company policies & procedures and employment legislation and acts with discretion when managing confidential matters.
