The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with pupils who have communication difficulties related to Autism and associated complex needs.

A sound understanding of community support networks and agencies is essential for this role, as is a commitment to professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with autism and other complex needs to access education and overcome barriers to learning.
  • Working closely with class teachers, learning support assistants, and the pupil support worker to develop and implement individualised support plans.
  • Providing a vital link between home and school to promote engagement, pupil wellbeing, and support the whole family unit.

Requirements:

  • Educated to SVQ Level 1, General Standard Grade, National 4 or equivalent in English.
  • A full current driving licence is desirable for this post.
  • PVG membership is essential for this role.

Salary: £28,322 - £30,257 per year pro rata (£15.58 per hour), depending on experience.
