About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Architect to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our design engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing data center facilities that meet the highest standards of safety, security, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Development: Work with our team of design and engineering professionals to develop concepts and build projects for our data centers.
  2. Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of data center designs and features, ensuring that they meet our company's standards and requirements.
  3. Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance to team members and external consultants on design and implementation issues.
  4. Prototyping and Template Development: Develop and maintain Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for architectural, civil, and structural elements.
  5. Design RFPs and Consultant Management: Create architectural, civil, and structural design RFPs and manage the work of external design consultants.
  6. Collaboration and Coordination: Coordinate with internal and external MEP design engineers to ensure seamless design and implementation.
  7. Initiative Leadership: Lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, and consistency in our data center designs.
  8. Travel and Site Assessments: Travel for site assessments, consultant selection activities, internal design meetings, construction review, and to interface with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), design consultants, quantity surveyors, and building owners.
Requirements
  1. Accredited Architecture Degree: Possess an accredited architecture degree.
  2. Industrial Facilities Experience: Have 8+ years of experience in industrial facilities and 3+ years of experience in design of mission critical facilities.
  3. MEP Engineering Experience: Have working experience with MEP engineering consultants.
  4. Building Codes and Regulations: Be proficient in building codes, regulations, and standards across the APAC region.
  5. International Travel: Be able to travel internationally to manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Master's Degree in Architecture: Possess a Master's degree in architecture.
  2. Data Center Design Experience: Have 3+ years of experience in data center design.
  3. Constructability Evaluation: Demonstrate the ability to evaluate the constructability of new technologies and determine construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
