Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at Plastic Energy. As a key member of our Research and Development department, you will be responsible for conducting experiments on the laboratory and pilot scale, characterising the resulting products, and analysing the data to inform our technology development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of end-of-life plastic waste pyrolysis and related waste management practices.
  • Design and execute experiments to characterise the products of pyrolysis, including their chemical and physical properties.
  • Analyse data and interpret results to inform the development of our technology.
  • Support the day-to-day running of research projects, including the maintenance of laboratory equipment and the preparation of reports.
  • Work closely with the research team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to our processes.

Requirements

  • A degree-level qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience of working in a laboratory setting, including the operation of analytical equipment such as GCMS and FTIR.
  • Good maths and IT skills, including proficiency in data analysis software.

  • A strong sense of curiosity and a desire to learn and improve.
