Job Summary

The Finance team at East Dunbartonshire Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join their team. As an Education Finance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Principal Accountant and contributing to the delivery of a financial accounting and advisory service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial support to the Principal Accountant and contribute to the development of the financial framework and controls within the Council.
  • Ensure that financial information is customer-focused and fully compliant with all relevant accounting codes, regulations, and legislation.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a financial planning and monitoring service that meets the needs of all stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Education management team to ensure that they are fully aware of their financial responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of local government finance, accounting principles, and financial information systems.
  • Excellent ICT and spreadsheet skills.
  • Fully qualified membership of a recognized CCAB is essential.
