Job Summary

Finitas is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Head of Delegated Underwriting and Operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the Underwriting and Delegated Underwriting teams, ensuring consistency and best practices across all teams and platforms involved in Delegated authority underwriting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Management
    • Lead and manage the Underwriting and Delegated Underwriting teams, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of their duties.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance, productivity, and morale.
  • Underwriting and Operations
    • Oversee the onboarding of new and existing Coverholders/MGA and Delegated Claims Authorities, ensuring seamless integration and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Manage Underwriting and Operational audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
    • Develop and maintain effective credit control processes, ensuring timely and accurate bordereaux reporting and follow-up.
    • Monitor and report on KPI metrics, providing regular feedback to the Underwriting teams.
    • Represent Finitas in internal committees, such as the Customer Review Committee, the London Executive Committee, and other underwriting forums.
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging and developing regulatory changes within the market, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary amendments.
  • Vendor and Regulatory Management
    • Manage relationships with vendors and regulators, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and contractual obligations.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in underwriting delegated business, with a strong understanding of financial, claims, and premium processes.
    • Proven track record of success in a similar role, with experience in managing teams and driving business growth.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
    • Knowledge of the Lloyd's market, regulatory environment, and Coverholder network.
