Postdoctoral Researcher in Agroecology

Rothamsted Research is seeking a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral researcher to join our Agroecology group. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to a new international project called "One Crop Health", which aims to reduce pesticide use and promote sustainable farming practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a field sampling campaign across the UK, collecting data on pests, weeds, and diseases.
  • Work with a field team to study the ecology of agricultural fields and understand the role of soil health and biodiversity in sustainable crop protection.
  • Contribute to high-impact papers in world-class journals and participate in international project meetings.
  • Collaborate with a vibrant, interdisciplinary team and gain experience in management and student supervision.

Requirements:

  • PhD in a biological or environmental science discipline.
  • Passion for the environment and interest in sustainable farming.
  • Experience in field sampling and analysis of biological data.
  • Track record in scientific writing and communication.
  • Collaborative team member with a strong work ethic.

About the Role:

This is a 5-year fixed-term appointment with a salary in the range of £31,350-£32,315 p.a. The Rothamsted Agroecology group provides a friendly and supportive environment for professional development and career progression. We offer extensive training opportunities and a chance to gain experience in management and student supervision.
