We are seeking an experienced and skilled Mechanical Technician to join our on-site engineering team at the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The successful candidate will report directly to the Mechanical Estates Officer and be responsible for the safe installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of the Trust's complex plant, equipment, and buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out and supervise the safe installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of the Trust's plant, equipment, and buildings.
  • Require significant training and experience in commercial mechanical building services supporting large, complex systems such as heating, hot and cold water, ventilation, air conditioning, passenger lifts, lifting equipment, internal and external drainage, etc.
  • Have an understanding and experience of steam-operated plant and equipment.
Person SpecificationExperience
  • Extensive experience in similar roles.
  • Proved experience in managing and leading small teams.
Desirable Experience
  • Significant hospital experience.
  • Health and Safety expertise.
Knowledge
  • City & Guilds approved qualifications or equivalent.
Qualifications and Training
  • Apprenticeship.
  • City & Guilds NVQ Level 3.

The salary for this position is approximately £38,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience. This figure is estimated based on industry standards and location.
