Research Fellow in AI for Healthcare Data Science

To support the Principal Investigator in achieving project milestones and attending project meetings as required. To undertake the development of databases and software tools, and develop AI tools to handle data management and analysis as needed. Contribute to the design and organisation of the R&D project and assist with project administration.
Skills and Experience RequiredThe successful candidate will have significant experience in Software Engineering and Databases, as well as significant experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Knowledge and experience in database frameworks (e.g. SQL, Tableau, Hadoop, NoSQL) and developing software projects are essential. Additionally, knowledge and experience in AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, etc) and developing AI/ML projects are required.
The ability to implement innovative ideas into code (Python, R) and excellent written and oral communication, and IT skills are essential for this role. The ability to organise research activities to deadline and quality standards, and be self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines is also required. Excellent interpersonal, organisational skills, and being flexible and adaptable to workload and team requirements are essential.
Qualifications RequiredAn undergraduate honours degree (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, or a relevant subject area is required. A PhD (or equivalent qualification) degree in Data Science/Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science, or close to completion of PhD (no more than 3 months prior to viva) in a relevant subject area, or equivalent experience is also required.
