Job Overview:

Islington Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Communications and Engagement Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing a marketing and communications strategy that promotes the Family Hubs Programme and engages with parents, carers, and local communities.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for the Family Hubs Programme, including social media, email marketing, and community engagement initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with the Council's overall marketing and communications objectives.
• Conduct research and analysis to identify target audiences, messaging, and communication channels that will effectively promote the Family Hubs Programme and engage with local communities.
• Develop and deliver a range of campaigns, including social media, email, and print materials, to raise awareness and promote the Family Hubs Programme.
• Work closely with the programme team to ensure that all marketing and communications activities are aligned with the programme's objectives and outcomes.
• Provide project management support for marketing and communications projects, including developing project plans, managing timelines, and ensuring that projects are delivered to budget and quality standards.
• Manage external suppliers and contractors to deliver marketing and communications services, including social media management, content creation, and campaign implementation.

Person Specification:

• Proven experience in marketing and communications, including social media, email marketing, and community engagement.
• Strong understanding of marketing and communications principles, including target audience analysis, messaging, and communication channels.
• Excellent project management skills, including developing project plans, managing timelines, and ensuring that projects are delivered to budget and quality standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to collect and analyze data, and make recommendations based on data insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and local communities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and partnership working.
