About the Job

Veritas Education Recruitment Ltd is looking for a dedicated and passionate Key Stage 2 SEND Intervention Teaching Assistant to join their team.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to develop and implement tailored interventions for pupils across Key Stage 2, promoting academic progress and supporting the overall well-being of students.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement tailored interventions for pupils across Key Stage 2, working closely with class teachers.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of individual students, providing feedback to the class teacher.
  • Establish a nurturing, supportive environment that helps students feel safe, motivated, and ready to learn.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure that SEND pupils receive the best possible educational experiences.
  • Tailor activities to meet the diverse needs of all students, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Foster the cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical development of pupils, ensuring their overall well-being.
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom where pupils feel empowered to succeed.
Requirements
  • A qualification in education, childcare, SEN, or equivalent experience.
  • A good understanding of the needs of pupils with learning difficulties and sensory processing challenges.
  • A flexible approach, with a willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the pupils and school.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a sense of humour to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • A strong dedication to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children.
  • Experience working with children who have special educational needs is highly beneficial.
