About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Time for Dementia volunteer. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in promoting the Alzheimer's Society's education programme, which aims to improve the knowledge, attitude, and empathy of future healthcare professionals.

As a community outreach coordinator, you will identify and contact local community groups, such as Dementia Cafes, to share information about the Time for Dementia programme. You will then attend these groups to collect the contact details of families who may be interested in participating in the programme.

One of our Time for Dementia Officers will follow up on the leads you gather, ensuring that families affected by dementia receive the support they need. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people affected by dementia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and contact local community groups to share information about the Time for Dementia programme
  • Attend community groups to collect contact details of families interested in participating
  • Work with our Time for Dementia Officers to follow up on leads and provide support to families

Requirements:

  • Confidence in public speaking and group discussions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
