Inspection Team Leader Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inspection Team Leader to join our team at Hewett Recruitment.

In this role, you will lead a small team of inspection personnel, ensuring that all inspections are conducted efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and directing a small team of inspection personnel, providing workflow direction and setting priorities.
  • Attending planning meetings as needed to ensure inspection processes are aligned with production schedules.
  • Training team members in interpreting engineering drawings for inspection purposes, using CMMs or gauges as required.
  • Verifying subcontract operations as specified by Works Orders (WOs).
  • Identifying and recording non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Generating Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection (FAI) reports.
  • Maintaining gauge calibration and ensuring all inspection equipment is in proper working order.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Highly competent and experienced in using gauges and CMMs for inspection.
  • Proficient in CMM programming.
  • People management experience.
  • Excellent eye for detail and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in production inspection within a machine shop environment is essential.
  • Experience in aerospace and/or nuclear environments is highly desirable.
  • Apprentice trained with a minimum of City and Guilds qualifications.
