Job Title: Principal Environmental Consultant

Join Tetra Tech, a leading provider of high-end consulting and engineering services, as a Principal Environmental Consultant. In this role, you will work with our team of multidisciplinary environmental consultants to survey, assess, and advise on specific situations, including acting as an expert witness at hearings and inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and organize team members, ensuring that assigned work is completed to deadlines and is of good quality.
  • Organize and review monitoring plans, as well as manage project finances, invoicing, and project costing.
  • Liaise with site contacts in real-time as monitoring limit exceedances occur, and troubleshoot noise and air quality equipment issues.
  • Compile results-based technical monitoring reports and prepare technicians for surveys.
  • Provide guidance to surveyors undertaking site visits and follow up on work assigned, even if completed by others.
  • Ensure verbal and written communication is professional, recorded, and shared with all necessary team members and filed correctly.
  • Conform to CDOP, policies, and NALO procedures, and promote compliance to others.
Requirements:
  • Ideal degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Noise/acoustics or air quality experience beneficial but not essential.
  • Good physical health, good hearing, and olfactory acuity (sense of smell) due to noise, light, odour, and vibration monitoring.
  • Good geospatial interpretation ability to find and identify precise locations.
  • Able to use technical equipment on the field with minimum supervision.
  • A full, valid UK driving license is essential.
