Director of Sustainability & Operations

Our client, a leading industry consultancy, is seeking a visionary leader to drive their sustainability team forward. As Director of Sustainability & Operations, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality sustainable solutions, drive business development, and expand the company's sustainability service offering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership for the sustainability team, ensuring efficient operations and high performance.
  • Oversee and manage the delivery of a wide range of sustainability projects, ensuring alignment with clients' goals and global sustainability standards.
  • Play a key role in the development and growth of the sustainability service offering, identifying new opportunities in the market.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients, fostering business growth through proactive engagement and thought leadership.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that advance sustainability and business objectives.
  • Mentor and develop senior team members, creating a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
About You:

You are an experienced leader with a deep understanding of sustainability and operations in the built environment. You have a strong track record in team leadership, business development, and delivering high-quality sustainable solutions. You are innovative, commercially astute, and keen to take the next step in your career by joining a dynamic and forward-thinking consultancy.

Key Qualifications & Experience:
  • Extensive experience in sustainability consulting in the built environment sector and ideally in the following areas: Green Building Certifications, Building Physics & Energy Modelling, Whole Life Carbon Analysis and Embodied Carbon, Net Zero and Circular Economy Strategies.
  • Proven track record in leading and growing high-performing teams.
  • Strong business development skills with the ability to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability frameworks and certifications.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and deliver profitable growth.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
