Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Vehicle Technician to join our team at Aligra Personnel Ltd in Preston. The successful candidate will work on a shift pattern from Wednesday to Saturday.
- Wednesday: 13:00-19:00
- Thursday to Saturday: 07:00-19:00
The primary function of this role is to undertake maintenance and repair activities on commercial vehicles and trailers. This includes diagnosing faults, carrying out tests, and effecting permanent repairs.
- Carry out preventative maintenance work to minimize unnecessary customer costs
- Complete paperwork and procedures related to warranty, contract, and retail work
- Perform other duties reasonably within your capabilities as instructed by your manager
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A City & Guilds or equivalent qualification to NVQ level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
- Experience in the diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair of vehicles, with a focus on commercial vehicles
- An organized and methodical approach to problem-solving with attention to detail
- Maintained knowledge of work methods and technical data through manufacturers' training courses
- A full and current UK driving licence (an HGV licence is preferred but not essential)
- A friendly, confident, and professional manner with excellent communication skills
- The ability to work well under pressure and as part of a larger team
