Senior Estimator - Gatwick Airport

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at London Gatwick Airport. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting the Lead Commercial Manager in delivering the strategic aims and objectives of the business through an integrated and consistent approach to estimating.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate early-stage financial estimates and cost plans to support cost control and ensure the successful completion of projects within the allocated budget.
  • Support the Lead Commercial Manager in producing and periodically updating processes and procedures for estimating, benchmarking, and targeting costs.
  • Apply clear templates for presenting estimates and cost plans to Sponsors and Project teams, ensuring comprehensive and clear engagement.
  • Manage the utilisation of cost management structures to facilitate transparent cost comparisons throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Cultivate relationships with other Airports and Client organisations to establish a range of external benchmarks supporting value and capital efficiency demonstrations.

Requirements:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering, construction or business-related field.
  • Experience as a Cost Planner / Senior Estimator (or similar) on multi-year programmes/projects with a value typically above £50m in a relevant industry.
  • Experience in designing business processes for cost estimating, preferably within an organisation considered to be high-performing or best practice in project delivery.
