Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Gattaca. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and support of advanced mechanical systems for our radar and electro-optic products.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop innovative mechanical solutions using 3D CAD software.
- Conduct stress and thermal analysis to ensure products meet technical, safety, and quality standards.
- Lead and support design reviews to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver cost-effective solutions.
- Support investigations into technical issues and provide effective solutions.
- Ensure mechanical designs are manufacturable and support continuous improvement of design processes.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a Senior or Principal role.
- Expertise in 3D CAD software, preferably Creo.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to challenge ideas constructively.
- Chartered Engineer status with IMechE or equivalent, demonstrating UK-SPEC competencies.
- Ability to mentor and support junior engineers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum of an upper second-class Master's Honours degree in a relevant discipline.
