About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Drug and Alcohol Specialist Support Worker to join our team at East London Apartments. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals with complex needs, including those with substance misuse issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and external partners to create a positive and supportive environment.
  • Conduct holistic assessments and develop individualized support plans to help customers achieve their recovery goals.
  • Provide trauma-informed support and guidance to customers, focusing on their strengths and resilience.
  • Work collaboratively with external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and customer outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver training and education programs to enhance staff knowledge and skills in substance misuse and trauma-informed care.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant field, such as substance misuse, addiction, or psychology.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with complex needs services, community development, or addiction counseling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of harm reduction techniques, medication treatment, and behavioral counseling.
