Railway Safety Planner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safe System of Work Planner to join our team at Octavius Infrastructure.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with rail industry safety standards, procedures, and Network Rail Rule Book requirements by planning and documenting Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) for trackside activities.

• Accurately plan and document SSOW using RailHub/Ontrac systems
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure safety of personnel working near rail lines
• Oversee the safety of personnel working on trackside activities
• Collaborate with internal and external clients, including Network Rail, to ensure effective delivery

You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and committed to meeting strict deadlines. You have strong safety-critical communication skills and a solid understanding of rail planning and operations.

You will bring experience with RailHub/Ontrac systems and PPS, excellent planning and communication skills, knowledge of COSS/PC/ES/PICOP and Electrified Lines Working Instructions, experience with On Track Plant, Machines, and Engineering Trains, good IT skills (Microsoft Office), and GCSE-level English & Maths.

Possession of relevant rail industry qualifications and competencies, or equivalent experience, is also required.
