We are recruiting an experienced leader to fill the role of Garage Manager at our client's garage near Horley. This is an exciting opportunity to drive the success of a reputable business by improving operational efficiency and maintaining high customer satisfaction levels.
About the Job:
The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the garage, manage a team of technicians and support staff, and ensure that high standards of service are consistently met. You will also be responsible for maintaining excellent customer relationships, managing the workshop, and ensuring efficient workflow. Your leadership skills will be key in driving the success of the business.
- Manage daily operations of the garage, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service delivery.
- Lead and motivate a team of mechanics, technicians, and support staff to achieve optimal performance.
- Customer service oversight, handling inquiries, complaints, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
- Monitor and improve workshop performance, including productivity, quality of work, and turnaround times.
- Compliance management with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and legal requirements.
- Handle staff scheduling and allocate resources effectively to meet demand.
- Inventory management, ensuring the garage has the necessary tools, parts, and equipment.
- Diagnostics and repair assistance as required, and ensure the highest quality of work is delivered.
- Work closely with senior management to develop strategic plans for the business.
- Financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and maximizing profitability.
Candidate Requirements:
- Extensive experience in the automotive industry with a strong understanding of garage operations.
- Proven leadership or management experience, ideally within an automotive garage or workshop environment.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Organizational and multitasking abilities to manage competing priorities.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Financial acumen to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
- A valid driving license.
