About the Role

This is a rewarding opportunity to join LRQA as an Asset Inspection Specialist based in Lancashire/Yorkshire. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for assessing the design, manufacture, and in-service aspects of engineering assets against agreed codes, standards, specifications, and procedures.

In this role, you will utilise your expertise and knowledge to provide advice for service delivery within agreed parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements. You will produce deliverables within the agreed parameters in a defined format and discuss/present the deliverable with external clients, assessing alternative solutions where appropriate.

You will also undertake routine administration as required in line with current processes and procedures. Additionally, you will assess/recommend the time/value of the work to be undertaken for an external client within an agreed fee/cost structure and issue quotations up to an agreed limit and LRQA's standard terms and conditions (Commercial Notice).

We are looking for someone who possesses a relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised university. Preferably, you should be a qualified member of a recognised professional body, such as I Mech E, IET, or IMechE. You should have sufficient relevant working experience to demonstrate good awareness of the relevant specialist requirements, knowledge, and application.

A thorough knowledge of material, welding, and pressure vessel construction codes, particularly PD and ASME Section VIII, is essential. Knowledge and understanding of EC Directives PED 2014/68/EU, PSSR, LOLER, PUWER, commissioning and maintenance requirements for commercial refrigeration systems as deployed in the retail food sector, refrigeration safety standards BS EN 378-1:2016+A1:2019, and Institute of Refrigeration codes of practice are also required.

Salary Range: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience
