About the Job:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEN Support Specialist to join our school on an interim basis. As a key member of our SEND team, you will be responsible for supporting the school's SEND provision, focusing on key aspects of the role to ensure the continued success of our SEND support services.

  • You will facilitate soft starts for children with SEND, providing a calm and supportive start to the day.
  • Lead the SEND lunchtime club, creating a positive and inclusive environment for pupils with additional needs.
  • Provide support for regulation of high SEND needs children, including break cover and intervention work as required.
  • Collaborate with the interim SENDCo to support paperwork-related tasks, if your experience and knowledge allow.
  • Promote a nurturing, inclusive school environment that supports the well-being and development of all pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with a range of SEND needs, including SEMH.
  • Understanding of SEND strategies and interventions.
  • Resilient, proactive, and solution-focused approach.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the children and the school environment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week. You will be based at our school in Brighton.
