Job Title: Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse

We are seeking an exceptional Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Medical Short Stay Unit (MSSU) team at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and prioritizing care in a busy environment, working closely with the Ward Manager, MSSU team, and Matron for Urgent Care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide effective leadership and act as a good role model
  • Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team and coordinate all aspects of care in the best interests of patients and their families
  • Supervise junior staff and teach qualified and unqualified staff as appropriate
  • Achieve and maintain competence in identified mandatory and statutory training, develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge

Requirements:
  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
  • Experience as working as a Band 5 or above
  • Ward/departmental based training
  • Managing clinical risks and incidents at ward level
