About the Role

Gazprom Energy is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our Portfolio Modelling team in Manchester or London. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining industry-leading modelling solutions, delivering analytical insights to support business success, and ensuring the stability and automation of our data analytics environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain advanced modelling solutions using Python, SQL, and machine learning techniques.
  • Collaborate with risk management to develop new products and solutions that minimize portfolio risk and exposure.
  • Ensure a stable and automated operating environment for data analytics, visualization, quality assurance, and report content monitoring.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to provide tier-one insights into portfolio EBITDA performance, customer metrics, price influences, and external portfolio impacts.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure industry-leading forecasts and insights.
  • Contribute to R&D for concept development, data mining, and data-gathering techniques, including ML/AI design and forecast visualisation.
Requirements
  • High-level proficiency in Python, SQL, and machine learning techniques.
  • Advanced analytical competencies.
  • Experience using data visualisation tools.
  • Knowledge of forecasting techniques.
  • Exposure to production engineering technologies such as Docker.
  • Proven experience in data science across finance, trading, or energy industries.
