About the Role:

The Dairy Buyer will report into the Head of Procurement and be responsible for ensuring all dairy commodities meet quality standards while maintaining commercial targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including market research, competitive pricing, supplier selection and negotiation, contract implementation and supplier performance reviews.
  • Deal with and resolve escalated supplier queries.
  • Source dairy commodities such as butter, cream, milk, and cheese.
  • Continuously review contracts, benchmark, tender, re-negotiate and execute contracts/agreements with suppliers to improve quality, service, and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor dairy procurement success criteria to track departmental performance.
  • Liaise with internal departments, including production, NPD, finance, technical, sales, and operations teams to ensure smooth procurement processes.
  • Analyze departmental figures and create reports for the management team.
  • Present reports, figures, and key information to the senior management team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in procurement or indirect procurement roles.
  • Experience in fast-paced retail or FMCG environments is essential.
  • Knowledge of dairy buying and procurement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical approach.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, including advanced Excel.
