Job Title: Electronic Test Engineer

Location: Sunderland

Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Test Engineer to join our team in the Sunderland area. Our client specializes in fault finding, repairing, and redesigning electronic products and works with a host of clients across multiple industries.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics and experience with soldering, testing, and electronic bench tools. They will be responsible for repairing, testing, and overhauling electronic equipment to component level, as well as evaluating and producing written reports of products as they arrive for test, repair, and overhaul.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair, test, and overhaul electronic equipment to component level
  • Evaluate and produce written reports of products as they arrive for test, repair, and overhaul
  • Provide product reliability improvements by way of reverse engineering and redesign of obsolete equipment
  • Solve technical challenges as they arise, e.g. obsolescence issues
  • Liaise with colleagues, clients, and suppliers as appropriate
  • Aid in the design of test boxes and test rigs for manual and automatic testing of electronic equipment, including development of test and diagnostic software

Required Skills and Experience:

  • HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience with soldering, testing, and electronic bench tools
  • Experience testing, fault finding, and repairing electronic devices
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office products
  • Professional report writing
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
