About the Role



We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Cardiologist to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Medical Director for Cardiac Electrophysiology, you will play a key role in leading our cardiac electrophysiology service and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to improve patient care.



The successful candidate will have expertise in advanced electrophysiology and complex device implantation, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for working closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement new treatment protocols, as well as contributing to the education and training of junior staff.



Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the cardiac electrophysiology service, developing and implementing new treatment protocols to improve patient outcomes
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement new services and treatments
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, using data and evidence to drive change and improve patient outcomes


Requirements


  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCPath) or equivalent qualification
  • Eligibility for inclusion on the General Medical Council (GMC) specialist register
  • Experience in advanced electrophysiology and complex device implantation
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and technologies


Working Arrangements

This is a full-time position, with a salary range of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience. The successful candidate will be based at our Queen's Medical Centre campus, with regular opportunities for travel to our City Hospital site.
