About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support and guide young people aged 10 to 18 in our secure unit. You will play a key role in helping them grow, develop, and make positive life changes.

About the Team:

At Brook Street Social Care, our mission is to inspire change in attitudes, behaviours, and emotions, enabling every child to become a positive and contributing member of their family and community. We are committed to Child Friendly Leeds, striving for a city where every child is safe, healthy, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Your Responsibilities:

As an HLTA, you will provide 1:1 support for young people with additional learning needs across the curriculum. You will also lead a team of care practitioners to support the daily lives of young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours. You will need strong IT skills, experience working with challenging behaviour in a residential or educational environment, and a Level 4 qualification in education delivery (or commitment to achieve it). A solid understanding of child and adolescent development, child protection, and safeguarding policies is also essential.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary plus Secure Unit Allowance, ongoing training and professional development opportunities, and a range of staff benefits to support your financial wellbeing and overall health. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people, we would love to hear from you.
