We are seeking a Health Improvement Practitioner to join our team at Tamakihealth. This is an exciting opportunity to work in primary care, providing brief behavioural and psychological interventions to support mental and physical health and wellbeing for our clinic populations.

About the Role

This generalist role is based in our GP clinics and involves working alongside multi-cultural GP teams, health coaches, and community support workers in a collaborative and integrated manner. You will be supporting nurses and GPs to promote well-being in routine GP care and providing therapeutic support to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide brief behavioural and psychological interventions to support mental and physical health and wellbeing for our clinic populations.
  • To work alongside multi-cultural GP teams, health coaches, and community support workers in a collaborative and integrated manner.
  • To support nurses and GPs to promote well-being in routine GP care.
Requirements
  • A post-graduate qualification enabling you to work therapeutically with clients.
  • Registration with a registering body under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (HPCA) or full membership with NZAC.
  • Experience working with clients and their whānau with at least 6 months experience in a team or clinical setting.
  • Experience in working in evidence-based therapeutic models particularly brief psychological interventions.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent training and professional development opportunities. Successful applicants will receive the required training including ongoing supervision and mentoring.
