About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Solicitor to join our team in Manchester. As an Associate Solicitor in our Commercial Group, you will play a key role in advising and assisting clients on a wide range of non-contentious commercial matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on the legal aspects of their existing and proposed commercial contracts and arrangements, including IT, IP, and data protection issues.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation and negotiation of complex commercial transactions.
  • Support our corporate teams in the completion of corporate transactions, including undertaking buyer and vendor due diligence and advising on associated transactional documents.
  • Maintain visibility and accessibility across the team and manage client relationships throughout the delivery of legal services.
  • Help develop and implement marketing and new business development strategies.
  • Undertake marketing activities, including presenting seminars and contributing to tenders and pitches.
Requirements
  • A strong background with experience in providing legal advice and assistance on commercial issues and arrangements.
  • A sound knowledge of the application of general legal principles to commercial situations.
  • The ability to apply this knowledge to the preparation of clear and accurate agreements, policies, and other documentation and advice.
  • The ability to master complex contracts and regulations with careful attention to detail.
  • The ability to translate clients' commercial needs into legally effective solutions and provide clients with commercially relevant advice.
  • The ability to negotiate effectively.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, working to tight deadlines and on multiple projects as required.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Keeping up-to-date with legal developments.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, both within the team and within the firm as a whole, together with high levels of personal commitment and initiative, while also able to supervise others and delegate work.
