We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with complex needs and challenging behaviors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver person-centered support to individuals with high levels of complex needs and challenging behaviors associated with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, and mental health problems.
- Work with children and young people who require 1:1 support due to various reasons, including:
- Children in Looked After Care
- Speech and language difficulties
- Physical and mental health issues, disabilities, and learning difficulties
- Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors
- Collaborate with the school team to develop and implement individualized support plans
- Participate in professional training and development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
- GCSE English/Maths at grade A to C or equivalent
- Team Teach training or willingness to undergo training
- Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application
