Job Title: Tool Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Tool Design Engineer to join our team at New Resource Group. As a Tool Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing new moulds and tooling, as well as supporting legacy tooling maintenance, repairs, and improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop new moulds and tooling
  • Support legacy tooling maintenance, repairs, and improvements
  • Manage tooling assets and conduct tooling audits
  • Ensure tool design complies with health and safety legislation
  • Utilise Six Sigma principles to meet objectives and improve processes
  • Conduct process verifications using SPC data and prepare process improvement recommendations
  • Assist with training manufacturing personnel for new equipment and processes
  • Work closely with Maintenance to ensure equipment uptime
  • Evaluate and manage capex investments
Requirements:
  • Degree, HND, or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Polymer Technology, with rubber mould tool design experience
  • Strong communication skills and technical knowledge of polymers and manufacturing processes
  • Analytical tool design experience and 3D CAD proficiency
  • Hands-on practical skills with a self-starter attitude
  • Desirable: Experience with SolidWorks, CAE, FEA techniques, and respirator product design
  • Prototyping and testing skills
