The Role:

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Process customs entries for imports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  2. Liaise with port health and customs officials to resolve document checks and queries.
  3. Verify import tariffs and trade agreements to ensure compliance.
  4. Coordinate with various modes of transport, including road and sea, to ensure smooth logistics.
  5. Handle a diverse range of commodities, addressing any queries or concerns efficiently.
  6. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment.
  7. Complete customs procedures, including codes and excise, with precision and attention to detail.
  8. Raise issues of non-compliance and implement corrective actions in accordance with customs regulations and international law.
  9. Ensure timely completion of invoicing, including VAT and duty invoices.

Requirements:
  1. Proven knowledge of customs regulations and procedures, with experience in import and export.
  2. Strong understanding of tariff classifications and BTI's.
  3. Previous experience with customs software and systems.
