ENT Surgeon Locum Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated surgeon to join our Trauma and Orthopaedic consultant team as a Locum Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a focus on hand and wrist surgery.
This is a fixed-term position for 18 months, covering both trauma and elective orthopaedic surgery. The successful candidate will have a strong background in hand and wrist surgery and be able to contribute to the care of trauma cases within the department.
The post will entail a significant input into the care of trauma cases, as well as elective surgery focusing on hip surgery, including hip preservation and arthroplasty. The post-holder will agree a detailed job plan with the Clinical Director, including personal and professional objectives.
The appointee will contribute to the teaching of medical students and trainee doctors, participate in weekly postgraduate meetings, and be involved in audit, governance, and training meetings.
The post is part of the Surgical Specialties Division, which sits within the Surgery & Cancer Board. The post-holder will be accountable to Mr Sam Oussedik, Clinical Lead for Orthopaedics.

Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the care of trauma cases within the department
- Elective surgery focusing on hip surgery, including hip preservation and arthroplasty
- Teaching of medical students and trainee doctors
- Participation in weekly postgraduate meetings and audit, governance, and training meetings
- Full GMC Registration
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT, CESR, or European Community Rights
- An appropriate higher orthopaedic surgical qualification
- Higher Academic Degree
