Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our dynamic team at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will contribute to the provision of high-quality gastroenterological services to patients in West Dorset and South Somerset.

Main Duties

The post-holder will be responsible for providing specialist diagnosis, treatment, and care to patients with gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disease. This will include participating in the provision of general gastroenterological inpatient, outpatient, and endoscopic services. The successful candidate will also take part in the ongoing development of the Gastroenterology service, in line with national and NICE guidelines.

Person Specification
  • GMC Registration with Licence to Practice
  • Higher UK clinical qualification (MRCP) or overseas equivalent
  • Awarded CCT or on Specialist Register
Desirable Criteria
  • 5 years clinical experience in Gastroenterology & General Medicine post membership
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist diagnosis, treatment, and care to patients with gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disease
  • Participate in the provision of general gastroenterological inpatient, outpatient, and endoscopic services
  • Take part in the ongoing development of the Gastroenterology service
