Job Title: Health and Safety Manager

Cranleigh Scientific Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees, contractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective health and safety management systems, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
  • Conduct risk assessments, design strategies to minimize hazards, and generate SSOW based on findings.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant UK legislation, including site construction regulations, waste management, and COSHH.
  • Develop and maintain robust health, safety, and environment management systems.
  • Record and manage all accidents, incidents, and near misses, including root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
  • Engage with employees, contractors, and suppliers on health and safety matters.
  • Coach and support R&D and engineering teams to generate new solutions to health and safety issues.
  • Communicate positive health and safety performance to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated health and safety management experience across chemicals or engineering.
  • Background in chemical, engineering, and/or R&D (desirable).
  • NEBOSH Diploma (advantageous).
  • Knowledge and experience in developing and internally auditing safety management systems based on legislation and ISO 45001 (desirable).
  • Development, management, and audit of health and safety management systems (minimum HSG65).
  • Passion for health, safety, and wellbeing, with the ability to drive initiatives independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
