Our client is a multidisciplinary environmental consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering innovative and effective solutions to complex environmental challenges. With offices in Bristol, Sheffield, Manchester, and now the south Cambridgeshire area, we are well-positioned to support clients across a range of sectors, including residential development, mineral extraction, energy generation, leisure, and healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality ecological services, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisal, Ecological Impact Assessment, Biodiversity Net Gain Metrics, Habitats Regulation Assessment, and Protected Species Surveys.
  • Work closely with clients, statutory consultees, and site contractors to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to identify business opportunities and drive growth.
  • Contribute to the development of our Ecology Team, including mentoring and training junior staff.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ecology, Botany, Zoology, or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years' experience in the environmental consultancy sector, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality ecological services.
  • Excellent field recording skills and ability to analyse data.
  • Strong ability to produce clear and concise technical reports.
  • Understanding of current guidance, UK standards, planning policy, and laws.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
  • Holds protected species class/survey licence(s).
  • QGIS experience.
  • Proven project management experience.
