Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Nursery Chef to join our team at JEM Childcare Solutions. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating delicious and nutritious meals for our children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals for 70 children, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs of our children.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including food production, inventory, and cost control.
  • Lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Collaborate with our childcare team to ensure that meals are aligned with our educational programs.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Food & Hygiene Level Certificate Level 3 (or at least a level 2).
  • Proven experience as a Chef, with a strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food production, and culinary techniques.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Proficient in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with staff at all levels effectively.
