We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Spring Wood Lodge hospital.
This permanent position will see you working as a Consultant/Responsible Clinician for patients in our locked rehabilitation setting. You will have a CCT in General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry and experience of working with and leading multidisciplinary teams. Our team specializes in providing rehabilitation using positive behavioral support principles and empowering service users in their recovery.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for:
- Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, and strategic reviews.
- Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
- Offering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the assessment, formulation, and treatment of patients.
- Contributing to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital.
- Contributing to in-house training programs and offering supervision to other members of the multidisciplinary team.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be medically qualified, MRC Psych or equivalent.
- Have a strong understanding of current developments in psychiatry and other aspects of mental health.
- Have substantial knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, and contemporary issues in mental health.
- Have previous Consultant experience in a management role.
