About the Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Research Assistant to join our team at the British Museum. As a key member of our interdisciplinary project, you will be responsible for analyzing X-ray CT scans of the Lewis chess pieces, utilizing your expertise in image visualization and analysis tools.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and analyze data from X-ray CT scans
  • Produce high-quality reports and output media
  • Contribute to the production of project research outputs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong science background, experience with image analysis tools, research experience, and good problem-solving capabilities. A competitive salary of £35,165 per annum is on offer, along with generous annual leave and membership of the civil service pension scheme.

Job Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., physics, chemistry, biology)
  • Experience with image analysis tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, ImageJ)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Hours:
