About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Quality Assurance Specialist - Water Asset Management to join our team at RPS Group.

This exciting opportunity will involve working on a range of capital delivery projects across Scotland, focusing on quality control and assurance for our Water and Wastewater Projects.

As a key member of our Asset Inspections business, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all our works adhere to industry standards and client guidance documents.

You will be responsible for supporting pre and post-inspection phases, thorough documentation of findings, and implementing best practices to maintain the highest levels of quality and unity across all our projects.

Responsibilities
  1. Support our asset inspection programme, ensuring thorough review and accurate reporting of our works.
  2. Oversee the quality control process, ensuring that all work adheres to the relevant standards and meets or exceeds client expectations.
  3. Ensure compliance with client guidance documents and industry standards, implementing best practices and regulatory requirements.
  4. Maintain detailed and organized documentation of all inspections and lessons learned, ensuring transparency and traceability.
  5. Support a team of professionals undertaking asset inspections, providing guidance and training to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
  6. Interact with clients regarding quality control and compliance issues, building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  7. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in asset inspection methods and quality control processes.
  8. Attend site as and when required to support the Asset Inspections Framework.
Requirements
  • Experience in the water industry, with a strong background in asset inspections, quality control, and compliance.
  • A keen eye for detail ensures that all inspections and quality control processes are conducted and concluded accurately.
  • Ideal location in the central belt, but willing to consider candidates from surrounding areas.
  • Experience and awareness of managing work in high-risk environments such as confined spaces and highways.
  • Experience in modern methods of inspections such as utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles, LIDAR, etc., and familiarity with GIS.
  • Experience being part of integrated/blended/diverse/multidisciplinary teams in delivering complex project outputs and programme outcomes.
  • A good communicator who listens and questions effectively, concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strive to exceed client aspirations and are goal-driven.
  • Proven experience managing performance and able to implement change.
  • Proficient in the use of the MS Office suite, work management systems, and applications are essential.
  • Demonstrable track record of reliability and flexibility.
