Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team, responsible for managing costs, preparing valuations, and maintaining accurate records within our in-house works management system.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage costs, suggest journal requests as needed, and review monthly management accounts to identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor and maintain data within the Company Inhouse Works Management System.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing of all work carried out within the region, meeting client-specified application/invoice dates.
- Manage the Early Warning and Compensation Event process as set out in the Contract.
- Manage client disputes face-to-face and create a strong client link, responding to client enquiries in a timely manner.
- Create In-Contract pricing, estimates, and quotations, and follow through to final account settlement.
- Assist the Regional Commercial Manager with aged debt, cash collection, and escalation as needed.
- Contribute to the overall management of commercial aspects of all contracts, ensuring costs and revenue are correctly allocated.
Requirements
- Education to degree level or equivalent.
- 2-3 years' experience in Quantity Surveying.
- Excellent negotiating skills.
- Good understanding of the NEC form of contract.
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of software.
- Confident in working with IT/Digital system-led solutions for commercial management.
- Understanding of management accounts and financial reporting processes.
- Good communicator and team worker, able to deliver presentations to clients.
- Ability to build new and existing relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Full UK driving license.
