Design & Technology with Engineering Teacher

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Design and Technology (D&T) Teacher with a focus on Engineering to join Supply Desk in Cardiff. As a full-time Design & Technology with Engineering Teacher, you will play a vital role in developing students' problem-solving abilities and technical knowledge while inspiring them to explore the practical applications of engineering and design in today's world.

About the Role:

As a Design & Technology with Engineering Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to think creatively and apply practical skills to solve real-world problems. You will foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting collaboration and respectful discussions while enhancing students' understanding of design principles and engineering concepts.

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic Design and Technology lessons with a focus on Engineering across various year groups.
  • Assess, monitor, and document student progress, providing tailored feedback to support their understanding of design principles and technical skills.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities, school events, and initiatives related to Design and Technology.
  • Stay current with developments in the Design and Technology curriculum, employing a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology with a focus on Engineering at the secondary level is highly desirable.
  • A strong commitment to student achievement and personal development.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students in their exploration of design and technology concepts.
