About the Role

The Devon Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Facilities Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to our patients and staff by carrying out a range of duties associated with cleaning, food service, and other patient support activities.

Main Responsibilities

As a Facilities Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning duties within the allocated department of work and associated areas in accordance with the departmental cleaning schedule, National Cleaning Standards, and including specialist cleaning as required by Infection Control.
  • Assisting with ad hoc light Portering duties.
  • Checking equipment to be used and displaying warning signs to comply with the Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Ensuring correct waste segregation disposal procedures in accordance with Trust policy.
  • Regeneration and serving of food, beverage preparation, and associated duties.
  • Distribution and collection of linen to wards and departments and other associated laundry duties.
  • Completion of Trust and departmental paperwork in accordance with standing instructions.
  • Assistance with Health, Safety, Hygiene, and monitoring checks/audits.
  • To observe Food Hygiene Legislation, hospital, and client policies and procedures at all times, reporting any faults, defects, or operational issues to the Supervisor/Manager/Client representative.
  • Engagement with all training programmes/courses relevant to the role.
