About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Radiographer to join our Paediatric Imaging team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality imaging services to children and young people.

As a Radiographer in this role, you will work closely with our specialist team of paediatric radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. You will be expected to work independently and as part of a team, using your expertise to adapt techniques and image quality to meet the needs of our young patients.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and has excellent communication skills. You will be able to work effectively with children and young people of all ages, as well as their parents and carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality paediatric radiography services, using initiative to adapt technique and image quality.
  • Work closely with our specialist team of paediatric radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with children and young people, as well as their parents and carers.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of protocols and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Person Specification
  • HCPC Registration
  • Experience of working in a department using IR(ME)R 2017 and IRR 2017 regulations in clinical practice
  • Team player who can also work independently
  • Able to work within protocols
  • Sound knowledge of all areas of Governance including H&S, COSHH, Manual Handling
  • Experience of teaching, mentoring, and supporting colleagues training and development.
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Application form expresses a strong, specific reason for wanting to work at UHS
  • Knowledge of other departments' work practice with which radiology has a significant interface
  • Relevant clinical courses
  • Quality assurance supervision and practice
  • Experience of working in/student placements in an NHS Radiology department
